BOOM! A massive explosion of pyrotechnics accompanies "Map of the Problematique" by Muse as Danny "The Vagrant" Vice walks out from behind the curtain to an enormous ovation from the PWA crowd. The World Heavyweight Title removed from his trophy room wall and once again around his most deserving waist glistens in the bright lights of an arena once more. Vice begins to feed off the crowd as he smiles walking down ramp, only encouraging their pandemonium and fervor with his arm getures, high fives, and general demeanor. He slides into the ring and ascends a turnbuckle with both arms up in the air as two massive "V" pyros hit behind him in the ring. As the music begins to die down, Danny requests a microphone from ringside to address the crowd.
Danny Vice: God almighty...it is so good to be back inside of a PWA ring.
Crowd: Danny! Danny! Danny!
Danny Vice: And it's even better to see the faces of all you beautiful PWA fans!
The crowd loving it just like the old days, as uber-face Danny Vice again hams it up for the crowd.
Danny Vice: You see people, I am here not for the reasons you may suspect. I am not here to defend this great title. I am not here because I am trying to save the good name of Danny "The Vagrant" Vice. And, believe it or not, I'm not even here just to get one more crack at beating the holy hell out of that no-good-sonofapregnant dog Skyler Striker!
Laughs and cheers all-around. Who doesn't enjoy laughter at the expense of Skyler Striker?
Danny Vice: No. Good people. I am because I am defending a legacy. A legacy of truth. A legacy of glory. A legacy of fruition, benevolence, and entertainment. I am here to defend the very legacy that is the Pure Wrestling Alliance. Once upon a time, this place stood for excellence. It stood for being the premier. The creme de la creme. The top of the heap. Go ahead and insert a cliche about supremacy...that was the PWA. And it was tainter. Spit upon by the likes of Drake Kencedro, Thunder, Miguel Sanchez...and of course...one Skyler Striker. You see, back in that fairytale day of the PWA at Clash of the Champion, there was a match deemed the Final Chapter. The book was supposed to end of Danny Vice and Skyler Striker that night. But people grabbed a hold of that beautiful legacy of the PWA and tried to tarnish all that it stood for. They cried foulplay. That I was not the deserving World Champion. So what is a man to do? How do you react when the world says you aren't the best...even when it was your opponents sweaty shoulders that pressed against the mat when the 1..2..3 fell? Well I know what Danny Vice would do in that situation, and I sure as hell know what each and everyone of you fans would want him to do. Stand up and fight back. Prove once and again that he is the PWA World Champion. And not let anyone or anything stop him from being the man clutching this title over his head when the final bell sounds. And there is nothing...NOTHING...anyone can do about it.
Danny slams down the microphone as "Map of the Problematique hits again. He climbs the turnbuckles to celebrate with his adoring public before heading backstage.
Can I really do it again? Can I beat him one more time? There's a lot to me that those people don't know. The downward spiral my entire career shockingly fell once this federation collapsed. I bounced around from place to place, and never attained the great success I did here. The crowd never cheered the same way. The bounce in my step was gone. I had lost my smile. My fervor. My passion. I began feeling sorry for myself. Depressed perhaps. I tried to regain my old success. Reached high for that top rung of the ladder but all that I did was fall deeper and deeper down. Meanwhile, what does Skyler become? The longest WCF Hardcore Champion of all-time. Then...the WCF World Champion. He has his daughters by his side with him now as they have each become his strongest and greatest motivator. What about me? My family? Jamie betrayed me for Thunder and never looked back. Jimmy's still here, but he spends so much time training for his own wrestling career that I spend most of my free time alone. Snap out of this Danny! Dammit! You're back. It's all going to be good again. The fans love you here.
Danny is walking backstage when he sees one of the men who work there up ahead in the hall. When the man turns around, Danny realizes he is no older than 18 or so. Still pimpled-face from puberty, his eyes light up when he sees the World Champ heading towards him. He all too excitedly moves the mouthpeice of his headset out of his way, and walks over to shake hands with Danny.
Backstage Hand: Great work out there Mr. Vice! It sure is awesome to see you back here again with that title around your waist. Give him hell Friday!
Danny Vice: Thank you! It's people like you that keep me going strong!
Danny presses out the backdoor to the arena and begins to walk through the cold night to his car.
You see...it's all going to be alright. There are people here who still believe in you. It's just a matter of believing in yourself. I know. I know. You haven't been able to believe in yourself in a longtime. It isn't easy. It's not going to happen overnight. Oh yeah, I guess it kind of has to this time. Well it is time to get started then. First thing is to let go of the past. This is a new PWA. New faces. New people. The only thing that remains is that it's going to be you and Skyler one more time. And here, in the PWA, there's only one way that ends...
