The pyro goes off in the sold out arena, signifying the start of the firs PWA Friday Night Assault in months. As the fireworks end, "Money" by Pink Floyd begins to play. This can only mean one thing: Michael Knight, the owner of PWA, is coming out.
Michael: First off, I want to thank all the great PWA fans for coming out to the return show of this great wrestling organization. As you all know, next week Skyler Striker and Danny Vice will fight one more time for the PWA World Championship. The scheduled contract signing will unfortunately not be taking place tonight due to travel problems, but next week that match will take place. Enjoy the tournament tonight--
"Personal Jesus" begins to play, followed by Miguel Sanchez appearing on the ramp. He grabs a microphone and steps into the ring.
Michael: Well, well, well. Look who decided to show up. It's the former PWA owner, the guy who I ran out of the company a long time ago. It's so nice of you to make an appearance, but run along and let us get on with the show.
Miguel: I'm don't have to leave and don't plan to. I'm here because I have an announcement to make. Yukio has sold to me a large portion of his PWA stock to me, which means one thing. I am once again you’re co-owner!
Sanchez drops the microphone, leaving a shocked Knight in the ring.
Jamal Carter vs. Mike Sullivan
This opening tournament match brought the crowd to their feet. Carter got the early advantage by catching Sullivan off guard with a flurry of offense. For a little bit, it looked like it wouldn’t be much of a contest. This all changed when Sullivan slipped out of a powerbomb attempted and low blowed Carter. This is gave Sullivan a distinct advantage, but not for long. Carter hit a DDT seemingly out of nowhere, and hit This Is Why I’m Hot for the victory.
Winner: Jamal Carter
Reckless Jack vs. Howie Banks
This match did not stay in the ring for long. After a clothesline by Reckless Jack, both men spilled out onto the floor. Banks hit The Hollywood Dream on the ramp and went for a countout victory, but Reckless Jack made it back in before the 10 count. After more hard hitting action, RJ brought Banks down to the mat and locked in Enjoy the Silence for the submission victory.
Kid Hollywood vs. Drake Kencedro
Kencedro seemed very confident in the early goings, but just when victory seemed within his grasp, he was hit out of nowhere with the Golden Foot, which gave Kid Hollywood the quick victory.
Devon Steele vs. The Disciple
The longest match of the night, this contest was back and forth from the very beginning. Both men gave their all in a match that was incredibly draining for both. The Disciple even began bleeding at one point after ramming headfirst into the steel post. But it was all worth it, because he pinned Steele later on with a schoolboy.
